LEGISLATION

On February 1, 2016 the NJ Division Of Consumer Affairs proposed regulations that will weaken the intent of NJ's Pet Purchase Protection Act, the strongest consumer law of it's kind. We only recently learned of these proposed "clarifications" which will allow pet stores and sellers the option to not clearly display critical information about the source of their puppies and kittens!
Time is short; the period for public comment ends on April 1, 2016. So we ask you to ACT by doing two things (which should take less than five minutes):

  1. Send an email to the NJ Division Of Consumer Affairs expressing your opinion. Details (subject line, email content example and NJDOC email address) are in today's blog post: http://harnesslife.org/2016/03/16/what-you-wont-know-about-that-puppy-in-the-window/

  2. Share this information with others! Share on facebook, Twitter, Instagram and do an email blast like this one so that we can get as many folks commenting as possible. (We've already seen pet and rescue unfriendly legislation tabled after public outcry this year!
