ANIMAL CRUELTY

Animal neglect and abuse is everyone's business. Just like young children, animals can't get themselves out of an abusive situation to seek help. YOU need to be their voice. YOU need to speak for them. If you see or hear of abuse or neglect, call the SPCA—Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

In New Jersey, we have a state SPCA as well as chapter SPCAs, in certain counties, who enforce the animal cruelty laws. Listed below are all 21 counties in New Jersey and the SPCA that covers it.

In all cases, if it is an emergency and you are not able to reach the SPCA, please call your local police. Anyone interested in becoming a law enforcement agent for the SPCA, should contact them at 800-582-5979.

ALL animals in New Jersey—domestic, wild, "farmed," or otherwise—are protected under the law.
